Pocket NiceLabel Overview
Pocket NiceLabel is a unique solution for building and implementing solutions for label printing on wireless Pocket PC Windows CE and Windows CE.NET mobile devices. You build label templates with the NiceLabel Pro designer on the desktop computer and synchronize the files to the mobile device. Labels can be printed from the mobile device via a COM port, IR port, direct TCP/IP to the printer via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth wireless; or routed to NiceWatch, a centralized label printing server.
Pocket NiceLabel: Print any bar code and RFID smart label from your mobile device to any thermal printer that is supported by a NiceDriver.
Pocket NiceLabel supports the following functions:

Pocket NiceForm: A front-end labeling application generator for mobile label printing environments. You can design form templates using NiceForm on your desktop computer and print labels using Pocket NiceForm on your mobile device. NiceForm provides operators a simple and pre-defined label printing interface that simplifies data input and reduces errors in data processing and label printing. For example, using NiceForm you can connect your label to a database and use drop down menus (combo boxes) to enter data and print your labels.
Pocket NiceForm supports the following features:
- Text, Button, Edit Field and Memo Field
- Combo Box and List Box
- Table, Database Navigator and Database Search
Mobile Printing Methods
Pocket NiceLabel is a very flexible application and supports three (3) types of label printing methods: direct, distributed (print server) and print engine printing method.
Direct Printing: With the Direct Printing method you print labels directly from the mobile device that is connected to the printer. On your mobile device, you must select the port that connects the printer with your Mobile device. You have five (5) port options for the direct printing method: COM port LASP port, TCP/IP port, IrSIR port and Bluetooth.
Distributed (Print Server) Printing: With the Distributed (Print Server) Printing method you print labels from the mobile device to NiceWatch, which handles printing and enables selection of different printer drivers. Pocket NiceLabel becomes a client to NiceWatch, which is the automated label-printing server running on a PC or a server.
Using the distributed (print server) printing method allows you to print to any printer on your network. You can deploy all the NiceLabel Pro functionalities without any design limitations.
Print Engine Printing: Pocket NiceLabel is also a software component for application developers. You can easily add label printing to any Windows based mobile application without writing a single line of embedded printer code or communicating with the operating systems I/O. Pocket NiceLabel Product Solutions
Pocket NiceLabel is part of two NiceLabel products that are dedicated to simple mobile printing application design: NiceLabel Suite and NiceLabel Pocket PC Designer. Both products enable mobile printing through direct connections to mobile printers or through client/server connections with server based database lookups.
NiceLabel Suite: NiceLabel Suite is the premier label printing solution for both desktop and mobile label printing. NiceLabel Suite enables you to create mobile printing applications that print directly from the Mobile Device to the printer or through a server when used with the NiceWatch print server. The NiceLabel Suite software offers the following modules (among others) that you can use to create your mobile label printing solution:
- NiceLabel Pro: Full-featured label design and printing software that you use to create and print label (.LBL) files with your desktop computer.
- NiceForm: A full version of the standard NiceForm that will allow rapid user interface design for a mobile device as well as for a desktop PC.
- NiceWatch: A centralized print server to automate label printing operations. NiceWatch accepts a print request from any mobile, desktop, ERP or WMS application to automate label printing without user intervention. Print requests can be made through a file drop, a TCP/IP socket, a COM port or email trigger.
- NiceMemMaster: Utility to download true type fonts and graphics to a printer's internal memory to enhance printing performance for thermal printers.
- Pocket NiceLabel: A mobile client that executes the label and form designs that were created on a desktop PC.
Price: $995.00 USD for single user license; network licensing available for 5, 10, 20 and 50 concurrent users.
Pocket NiceLabel License: NiceLabel Suite comes with one (1) Client Access License (CAL) for one mobile device. You must purchase one (1) license for each additional Windows CE/ mobile device that you will be using for mobile label printing. Each additional Pocket NiceLabel Client Access License costs $30.00 USD (bundled for 5, 10, 20 and 50 devices).
NiceLabel Pocket PC Designer: NiceLabel Pocket PC Designer enables you to create mobile printing applications that print directly from the Mobile Device to the printer through Wi-Fi (TCP/IP), Bluetooth, COM (serial) or IR communication. The NiceLabel Pocket PC Designer is a mobile label printing application only and includes the following:
- NiceLabel Pro: Full-featured label design and printing software that you use to create label (.LBL) files with your desktop computer.
- NiceForm: A limited version of the standard NiceForm that allows rapid user interface design for a Mobile Device only. Interface design for a desktop PC is not enabled.
- Pocket NiceLabel: A mobile client that executes the label and form designs that were created on a desktop PC.
Price: $645.00 USD (single user license only).
Pocket NiceLabel License: NiceLabel Pocket PC Designer comes with one (1) Client Access License (CAL) for one mobile device.
