NiceForm Main Menu Printing Application

NiceLabel Suite is a full featured labeling product that emcompasses label design, integration, and printing solutions. NiceForm, a module within NiceLabel Suite, is a rapid application design tool that allows users to create printing applications. One of the unique functions of NiceForm is the ability to create multi-layered applications that can link to several forms. No programming experience is necessary and a main menu form can be created in as little as ten minutes!

Follow the instructions below to create your own main menu printing application.

The first step is to design your label in NiceLabel Pro. After you have finished designing your label, save your template. Then, convert your label to a form by selecting NiceForm from the Tools menu.

As NiceForm opens, select File and New Form Wizard. The wizard will walk you through creating a user print screen. After your form is created, edit & drag fields on the screen to your liking. You can also add graphics, text, memo fields, and barcodes. Before we create the main menu form, save your form.

The main menu form that we will demonstrate will allow you to give the user the opportunity to select which printing application they would like to run.

Create a new form by selecting File and Blank Form in NiceForm. Add any necessary graphics and texts that you would like. Next you will be adding a button and preview to the label to allow the user to open up a printing application.

To create a button, click on Button on the left tool bar. In the Properties, you can change the color, title, appearance, and actions of the button.

You will be clicking on Events tab and Actions button to define the actions to open up a form.

After you click on Actions, you can select the Action type. We used the Open another form to select the form you will link to. Click on Open another form and then OK to set your action.

The second way to link to a multi-layered application is by creating a Preview. Click on Preview on left toolbar and then select the label file you wish to take a snapshot of. After your preview is created, right click to open the Properties. The Events Tab will help you define the Actions Editor. Just like the button, select Open another form and link to the necessary form.
